Poem: Newark’s Downtown {Arts} District

By Rich Blackmon

When the developers came to downtown Newark, they took the art galleries and left us with a
shuttered Zaro’s.

A renaissance with no paintings.

A suburban office park for no-one or high-rent blight.

Urban re-development without people shall not prosper.

Rest in power Aferro, Aljira, City without Walls, Solo(s) Project House, and Seed Gallery.
